Tungsten Alloy Counterweight

Components of Tungsten Alloy Counterweight
1. Tungsten stems for oil-well logging
Description
Geologging is an exploration technique used mainly in the oil and gas industries. It is also known as wireline logging and borehole logging. A gamma ray source is lowered into a borehole and the radiation penetrates the rock strata. This data then can be analyzed to determine whether deposits of gas or oil are present.
Tungsten stem or tungsten sinker bar can also be utilized during flowing gradient surveys to provide extra weight or mass to the toolstring to reduce tool lift. And it can be a substitute for additional weight in higher pressure applications to enable the wire to run into the well against pressure and friction.
Application
Tungsten alloy counterweight is used as source holders for oil-well logging to shield the radioactive source and to act as a collimator for the gamma beam. Besides, tungsten sinker bar or tungsten stem bar is also used to balance the huge equipment for logging.

2. Tungsten weights for sport equipment
Description
Tungsten weights are an ideal, environmentally friendly alternative to lead weights, which are toxic and increasingly being labeled an environmental hazard. Tungsten weights are heavier than steel and extremely dense, being 30 percent smaller than its lead counterpart, which create twice the sound of lead weights and maintain their shape for longer.
Application
Tungsten weights are widely used in the production of other fishing applications, such as tungsten alloy line cutters and tungsten powder coating for fishing lines. There are lots of types and titles for fishing sinkers, such as tungsten pin fishing sinker, tungsten half drop, tungsten alloy ball sinker, tungsten jig, drop sinker with groove, drop sinker with hole, half drop sinker with groove, tungsten rod with hole, tungsten fishing spoon, tungsten fishing head sinker, none-toxic tungsten sinker, tungsten alloy ball, etc.

Application
Tungsten alloy counterweights and tungsten weights are used in applications such as weights in yacht, sailboat, submarine and other vessels, racing weights, tungsten stems for oil-well logging, tungsten fishing sinkers and so on. And they are also found with good advantages in aircraft planes including aircraft control surfaces, rotor blades, trim weights, guidance platforms, balancing of fly wheels and turbines, vibration dampening governors and ballast weights. Besides, they could also be used as fuse masses weights for self-winding clocks and watches.
